A P E R T U S

Apertus is translated from Latin, meaning "openness, open, free" and is a piece for string quintet in three movements. In this piece I explore different string techniques, using the structure of the different movements as focus points for the different techniques. The first movement is based on natural harmonics, the second movement is based on double stops and the third movement is based on pizzicato.

Apertur was premiered on the 19th of May 2022 by Uppsala Kammarsolister in Vårdklockan church in Visby.

Sheet music is available here.

Guldus

Guldus is a piece written for wind quintet and consists of two movements.

This is one of my most earliest piece, which tells a story of a pet bird I once had as a child. The bird escaped his cage, flew out into the garden and kept ascending. Guldus never returned home, as perhaps he found a new home.

The piece was premiered on the 22nd of may 2021 in St:a Maria cathedral, in Visby by Gotlandsmusiken's wind quintet, conducted by Rei Munakata.
